John Lane

Mr. Lane is Managing Director and Head of Energy Investment Banking at Commerce Street Capital where he oversees all energy related transactions. He joined Commerce Street in 2021.

John has over 40 years of experience in energy finance. He began his energy banking career in 1984 after working three years as an Independent Petroleum Landman.

Mr. Lane started three successful energy banking groups at Whitney Bank, Sovereign Bank and most recently First Horizon’s Energy Group. At First Horizon, his focus was primarily in the middle market segment of exploration, production, midstream and energy commodity companies.

Mr. Lane holds a B.A. in Marketing from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. Lane is a registered representative and has passed the FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 examinations.
