David Hicks
Managing Director
David Hicks is a Managing Director in the Business Development Group of Commerce Street Capital, LLC. His concentration is on financial institutions, and he also utilizes his executive experience in community banking to enhance Commerce Street’s advisory services.
Mr. Hicks has 50 years of experience in the financial services industry as a banking executive, consultant, and regulator. Prior to joining Commerce Street, he previously served as President and CEO of American Bank, NA in Waco, Texas, a community banking organization focused on commercial banking, mortgage origination and high-touch customized service. Before that, Mr. Hicks was the City President for Compass Bank in Waco, Texas where he served as market leader and underwriter on a wide range of credit facilities.
His consulting experience includes co-founding Resource Management, Inc. as the consulting affiliate of Pattillo, Brown & Hill, CPAs. At Resource Management, he led multiple contracts with the RTC and FDIC including the dissolution of all subsidiary entities of failed thrifts under the Dallas offices of the RTC.
His early career began as an examiner for the Texas Department of Banking. He earned his BBA from Baylor University and is a licensed realtor in Texas.
